BMDW honors outstanding training companies – Ten companies receive the national coat of arms for special merits – 14 companies are “state-approved training companies” – Seven companies receive the EU quality mark
“With today’s awards, we are honoring the outstanding achievements of Austrian companies. They prove the high quality of apprenticeship training and the contribution companies make to the business location and its continuous development. Particularly the training companies help to ensure that the economy gets urgently needed skilled workers and that mostly young people have the best professional and thus also personal perspectives. I warmly congratulate all companies,” said Section Head Georg Konetzky, who presented the awards on May 30, 2022 in the Ministry of Economy on behalf of Federal Minister Martin Kocher.
The award for special merits to the Austrian economy is granted annually on the basis of the trade regulations. The focus lies on innovative strength and sustainable business. The award entitles the holder to use the national coat of arms of the Republic of Austria in future business practice as a “state-distinguished company”.
The national coat of arms with the addition “State-distinguished training company” emphasizes the special achievements for apprenticeship training in Austria. Criteria are both an extraordinary quality of training in the company as well as special commitment in the training system (e.g. through participation in the development of new job profiles). This award underlines the importance of our specialist training, which is also internationally regarded as an example of best practice for the vocational training of youth and young adults.
In addition to the national coat of arms, the “Excellent Company for Learning in Europe” award is also presented as part of the Erasmus Plus project “EQAMOB – Quality Assurance for In-company Learning Mobility for Apprentices”. Companies that are particularly involved in the field of internships abroad for apprentices are thus highlighted in order to present the real added value of job-related experience abroad for apprentices and Austrian companies. This award was granted for the fourth time this year.
